If you are struggling to quit smoking, you are not alone. Each year millions of smokers try to quit smoking. There also millions more who start to smoke. A never ending cycle of smokers struggling to stop. It's never easy finding the right method to quit for you. There are many great resources around that can be a great help if you are struggling with the thought of giving up smoking. What you might think will be easy for you one day, maybe your biggest headache the next.
It is extremely important that you understand why you want to quit smoking. Simply waking up one day and thinking to yourself, I'll quit smoking, does not work.
It is a good idea to talk to others to help you decide upon the specific reason to give up smoking. For some this can often be a great exercise to help them strengthen their resolve to quit as well. Methods on paper or hear say may seem a good idea only to be completely overwhelming when you sit down and think about it. Talk with others, it will help you succeed and make you aware that it can be that simple. It can sometimes help if you talk over the reasons you want to quit with someone, they may help you overcome some of the temptations you will encounter.
Choosing to quit smoking is not an easy decision to make. It's a proven fact that going cold turkey does not work for the majority. Many people find that they are absolutely terrified to stop smoking. They believe that they just do not have the willpower it takes to quit successfully. It can be a little scary being in this position. It is important to have a good network of supportive people around you. It helps to have the mental support of your friends and family and those who know you can do it. Your group of friends and family will help you when you get those moments of doubt and need to be re motivated.
Maintaining the desire to stop smoking will take practise. Overcoming all of the temptation is difficult of course as well, but pulling support from your friends and family, as well as making a conscious decision to quit will go a very long way in your struggle. What starts as a completely overwhelming process will ultimately seem quite simple. You will be able to quit smoking, you might have difficulties but you will ultimate come out triumphant over the cigarettes.
Becoming a smoke free person agin is possible and with the support of friends they will make sure you are around for years to come. Simply deciding to give up on your attempt to quit smoking is not possible. You will be able to control your fears and with your desire and the support of those close to you it becomes possible to be a healthier non smoker once again.
